From north to south and east to west, there is virtually no place in the Kingdom of Thailand where His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has not set his foot. His Majesty treats all the problems as though they were his own, and ceaselessly works to solve them and plans long-term solutions for a sustainable way of life. To help improve the living conditions of the people, His Majesty utilises his all-round expertise in developing strategies and methods according to the social and environmental factors of each area. The projects that His Majesty initiated for his people cover all grounds of work, including health and medicine, education, society, irrigation, land development, agriculture, the environment, and transportation. His Majesty’s approaches in seeking practical solutions faced by his people involve providing people with knowledge and skills essential in supporting the family and becoming self-sufficient, as well as restoring and conserving natural resources for the sustainable future. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has produced “Touring the Royal Project Sites” to provide readers and tourists with the opportunity to explore and learn about the Royal Projects initiated by His Majesty the King and other members of the Royal Family. There are innumerable Royal Project sites around the Kingdom of Thailand, and TAT has carefully selected the sites that are suitable as a tourist destination and presented them in this booklet. At these Royal Project sites, visitors get to learn and appreciate the efforts that His Majesty the King and the members of the Royal Family have done for the Thai people.
